
Where to watch the 2026 World Cup in Charlotte
The FIFA World Cup is here.
Why it matters: Bars and restaurants will be packed with people watching nations compete on the world's biggest stage.
State of play: The tournament runs through July 19 across North America.
Catch up quick: Charlotte is not hosting games, but the city still had a World Cup connection. The Scottish national team trained at Charlotte FC's headquarters in east Charlotte during their tournament run.

The latest: The U.S. men's national team faces Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of round of 32 Wednesday, July 1, at 8pm. There will be several watch parties around town, including:
American Legion Memorial Stadium: Charlotte Independence and Soccer Sheet will co-host a free watch party in Elizabeth after the Independence game. RSVP required to claim your free ticket. Gates open at 7pm.
The VanLandingham Estate: the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association and Living in Plaza Midwood will host a free watch party with a giant screen at the popular neighborhood event venue.

The longtime Tottenham Hotspur bar in Uptown has an intimate atmosphere. It will be packed during the tournament.

This massive sports lounge in South End has a nearly 60- by 15-foot TV screen that can show up to 24 games at once or become a single large display.

Caswell Station
In 2017, the former Elizabeth home opened as a bar and restaurant. It's owned by the same group as Big Ben Pub, which temporarily closed in October 2025. Caswell Station will serve Big Ben's fish n' chips during the tournament. They promise to show every match.

Courtyard Hooligans
"Hooligans," Charlotte's beloved soccer bar in Uptown will be packed during the tournament. You'll find it across from Romare Bearden Park in Brevard Court. If you want to watch a match here, get there early. Space is tight, but it's a lively and intimate atmosphere.

American Outlaws' Charlotte chapter (USA supporters) will watch the United States men's national team play here. There will be raffles, drink specials and giveaways.
