Razorback Stadium set to rock in May

Metallica will play at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville on May 26, 2027, as part of a 12-city North American stadium run.

The big picture: The tour puts Fayetteville alongside Vancouver, British Columbia; San Diego, Calif.; Kansas City, Mo., and other major-market stops, with Limp Bizkit and Avatar joining the bill.

Metallica says the tour has played 99 shows in 26 countries since launching in April 2023.

Context: The University of Arkansas in January announced a partnership with Oak View Group to secure live event bookings at the stadium and Bud Walton Arena. The group planned to work with Live Nation to bring in concerts, and the stadium hosted Jelly Roll and Post Malone in July.

State of play: Fan club presales begin at 10am on Monday, Sept. 21.

Citi cardholders and eligible Verizon customers will have access to presales beginning at 10am Sept. 22.

Razorback season-ticket holders and donors can buy tickets from 10am to 10pm on Thursday, Sept. 24, using the code ARKANSAS. A link to the presale will be provided the morning of Sept. 24.

General ticket sales begin at 10am on Friday, Sept. 25.

Backstory: The M72 tour will resume after Metallica's residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The bottom line: A portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities through Metallica's All Within My Hands foundation.
